Mama's Old Bench

"The sweetest sounds to mortals given, are heard in Mother, Home, and Heaven."  ~William Goldsmith Brown

Mama's bench first sat under the Oak tree at our  home in Wimauma and then when we moved to Spring Hill it sat under a tree in the front side yard.  Now it sits under this Oak in my sisters front yard in Spring Hill.  The only think missing from this bench is Mama.  Mama loved sitting on this bench but because of her RA she rarely got the chance.

  1. So glad that your Mama's bench is with you wherever you move. I love the rustic style of it, and I can see why your Mama loved it so much.
    Beautiful photo of it, Cindy.
I hope that your week is going great.
We need rain here...how about there?
    Hugs and love,
    J.

    1. Thank you Jackie. I was so sure I responded to everyones comments but I see that I didn't. I apologize, I never mean to ignore your or anyone elses comments. Things just have been a little out of sync here.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

  2. P.S. LOVE Annie's photo on your Instagram page. I'm so glad that the turtle didn't reciprocate. She's a go-getter that Annie is! Great shots. I'm going back over there and look at more of them!!

    1. Thanks Jackie. She sure is but boy can she can be stubborn. She's such a sweet heart though. Thank the good Lord I have them both. I don't know what I'd do without them.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

  3. Oh Cindy I know first hand how very special that bench is. I have my Mom's old, wood Adirondack chair and round wooden table. I feel blessed to have them and use them both often with mom in mind.
I love your photos Cindy, I can really "feel" your subjects.
    Love Di ♥

    1. Hi Di. My Mama loved that bench. It's not that old but she was so happy when she got it. She wanted it displayed in the front of the house under the Oak tree. So it was put there for her. Now as my post says it sits under a tree in my sisters front yard. I'm glad you have your Mom's chair and table. It's nice to have something they loved as a reminder. Hope you had a great holiday.

    1. Hi Jackie, thank you. I've been online briefly and very little over the past month or so. I've really lost track of time and things. Dad is doing a little better but I've been sick with bronchitis again. Went back to the doctor on Tuesday. He says I have asthma and I'm allergic to cats. My sister that we live with has seven cats. Yes, I said seven. I'm not feeling very well but hopefully over the next week or so the inhalers the doctor put me on will help. Hope everything is well with you and your Mama and Daddy. Please say a prayer for me and Dad. I seem to have lost interest in most things these days. I wish I wasn't in school and looking for a job is not a high priority with me and it should be. Maybe once I feel better that will all change. A new school quarter starts for me on Thursday July 19th. Not really looking forward to it. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Hoping everything is great with you.

      Sending hugs back,
      Cindy

  6. Lois' mother had RA as does our son. Not fun. You are fortunate to have this beautiful bench to complete your memories!

    1. My apologies Lowell, I did not see this comment until now. RA is a terrible disease and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope your son is doing well.
