Make a little birdhouse in your soul

The last couple of days have been great weather wise.  The temperature has been perfect and the breeze has been soft and cool.  As I sat watching the birds visit the seed post I thought I really need to buy a new feeder. So I did.  Isn't it pretty?  I love the color and the dragonfly design.  At first the Tufted Titmice were having a hard time perching on the edge but they soon learned how to do it.  I'm sure it won't be long before the Cardinals and Chickadees discover it.

One of the first visitors to the feeder.  I think they like it.

Mr. Cardinal
Love the flair in the tail feathers.  I think he's showing off.

Mrs. Cardinal
Doesn't she look beautiful?

Sweet little Carolina Chickadee
Love the air action.

Tufted Titmouse
A little wing action from the Titmouse.

Ready for takeoff.

Red-bellied Woodpecker
Wow!  Imagine that, they actually have a red belly.

  2. I always love your photos; your bird shots here are the best!!
You have a way of capturing the delightful actions of our feathered friends!
I especially love the flaired tail feathers of the male cardinal. Great shots, Cindy!
Love your new bird feeder, too!!
I'm going to get out and about with my camera and try and get some shots of the birds in our yard. You've inspired me!!
Thank you for your amazing talent, my friend.
Hugs to you...and of course, scratches behind the ears for Annie and Charlie!
    Love,

    1. As always Jackie thank you for your kind compliments. I love the flaired tail feathers too. The feeder was a good deal at my local Walmart or at least I think so. It was less than $14. Oh do get out and get some bird photos and share. Charlie and Annie loved the scratches and send you as usual slobbery kisses and hugs.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

  5. You are amazing. These are all fantastic shots. And the variety of birds! I still don't understand why the local squirrels don't get all the bird seed before the birds. We have rapacious squirrels.

Three years without going to the mall? That's not normal for a young American lady! Is it? :-))

    1. Thank you Lowell. Bird calls from my phone or iPad. I'm trying to get an Eastern Bluebird but no luck yet. Did get a photo of one in 2011. As for the squirrels, I have seen one on the seed post but I think my girl Annie keeps them at bay. As for the mall, I'm not normal! Lol! Maybe one day soon I'll venture to one. Have a great weekend!!!!!!! :)

    1. Thank you! I paid less than $14 for it at Walmart. It was one of those things you see and don't hesitate to buy. I'm sure there was a better choice but I liked this one.

    1. Thank you Pam. I think they have enchanted me. I can't believe how physically close I can sit to them. They're all around me going from feeder to post to trees and don't seem to care I'm right there. Have a great weekend.
