Mr. Cardinal

"Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life." ~Rachel Carson

Mr. Cardinal visiting the seed post.  He usually stops by a couple or so times a day and has a quick bite.  That is if the Tufted Titmice let him.  The Mrs. was foraging on the ground for the seed that gets kicked off.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

    1. Thank you Judy. I just love him. The Mrs. seems a little shy although I have gotten a few shots of her. She seems content hiding in the bushes.

  4. Great photos of these brilliant birds. Funny, at our house, they chase the titmice out of the feeders.

Hope to see you at Wild Bird Wednesday, too. Just a tip: Stewart lives in Australia, and they are a little ahead of us, so if you live in the US, you can actually sign in on Tuesday.

    1. Thank you Connie. I would say it's definitely the Titmice who rule here. Thanks for the WBW tip. I wondered about that as I saw some posts dated for Tuesday.

  5. These are priceless, Cindy! We have a cardinal couple hanging around our house but I can't get a decent photo of them. Kudos to you!

    1. Thank you Lowell. I've been putting the bird seed out, sitting near it and playing the song/call of the Cardinal. They eventually come and I get my shots. Keep trying and good luck.

    1. Thank you Jackie. I was surprised at how close I actually got. I was about six feet away when I took these. They are cropped but even without cropping they came out nice.

Dad had his right eye done and is doing fine. Hope all is well with you and yours.

      Sending you love back,
      Cindy

    2. So glad to hear that your Dad's eye is fine; that type of surgery is amazing! I hope that he enjoys the vision that he will have because of the surgery. Praying for him...always...and for you and your sweet family.
      I hug you, Cindy.
      Love,
      Jackie

    3. Thanks Jackie. He has a follow-up with the eye doctor tomorrow morning. Then once he gets the okay he'll have the left eye done. Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend! I'm looking forward to maybe getting out with my camera away from the house this weekend. Wish me luck. Have a wonderful Valentines day.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

  7. Those Tufted Titmice think they are in charge, don't they? Cardinals are more shy ~

Beautiful set of images here, Cindy.

  11. Gorgeous photos of these colorful birds. They share my feeders with red-winged backbirds and both male and female take no guff from those blackbirds. They definitely rule the roost. :)

    1. Thanks so much Bayside Life. I must have a shy couple. I haven't had any black birds at the seed post but plenty of Tufted Titmice and Carolina Chickadees.

  14. Hi again, Cindy. Re your comment on Florida Fotos - I do believe that is what is known as an elephant ear plant. We had several at our other house in Ocala. They grow fast and we liked them a lot but don't do well during the winter. They usually come back in the spring, though!

Hope you're having a good week!

    1. Hi Lowell. I thought so but wasn't sure. They are very interesting plants and I've seen some really huge ones. Great photo by the way. My week is going well.

Hoping your week is a great one!

    1. Thank you Nancy. I'm partial to the little Tufted Titmice. They have such big eyes and are such acrobats at my seed post and the neighboring tree. They really are fun to watch. The Cardinals are wonderful too and I just love them. Thank you for the compliments!
