Today, tomorrow and beyond

"May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond."  ~Irish Blessing

I've been trying to get a good photo of a butterfly for a week or so now but this is the best I've gotten.  I like the subtle difference in its color from one photo to the next.  That's a leaf in the background but it looks like something else or at least it does to me.  What do you think?

Happy blogging

~Cindy

    1. Thank you Jackie. They have been hard to find and photograph so far this year. Of course it might would help if there were some flowers around for them but other than the trees things are still dead looking here. My sisters little Azalea bush has maybe two blooms left on it.
Glad you dropped by. Have a great weekend.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

    2. Always happy to be here, my friend.
The trees have not budded here in NC. Such a marked difference from where you and I live.
It is like I've traveled back into another season!
      Hugs to you....

    3. Hi Jackie. It rained and was very windy here yesterday. More of the same is expected today. I was hoping to be able to get out some today but who knows about this weather. Hope the weather is good there. I think Spring is taking a nap in some places. :)

      Hugs,
      Cindy

    4. Rough weather here (NC) night before last.
Skies cleared and cooler weather and sunshine prevail now.
I saw a chipmunk in the yard and a turkey too. Didn't have camera in hand (of course!!)
      How is your Dad?

    5. Hey Jackie. Weather here cleared up and it's been hot. The cold front didn't make it to us so we stayed warmer. It was 90 yesterday or at least that's what the sign said that I saw on the way to the store. Yesterday evening was nice with cooler temps and a very nice breeze. I hope your weather wasn't too bad. I bet the chipmunk was adorable.
Dad seems to be doing ok. Legs are swelling some, which we'll let them know when he goes to the doctor for labs tomorrow. Aide was here to help him shower. Which was good. That made him happy.
Charlie and Annie are fine. Going to vet this week for nails. They will enjoy that...not!
Hope you are enjoying your time in NC. I would love the cooler weather. I think at some point I will leave Florida if I can. I have a difficult time with the hot temps and humidity here. It would be nice to live somewhere where I could see the seasons change.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

    6. Is you Dad watching his sodium intake. I hope the doctor will be able to determine what is causing his legs to swell. Hugs for your Dad.
I send doggie hugs for Annie and Charlie....and prayers for whoever cuts their nails!! ;)
      Love,
      J.

    7. Jackie, my sister and I are very proud of him he's been very good about limiting his salt. He now only salts something if it really really needs it and then just a tad. Many times he doesn't use salt at all and my sister buys low sodium or no salt products. Hopefully the pups will be good little babies and not give the techs any problems. They can be stinkers when it comes to nail time.
      Hope your doing well. :)
      Hugs,
      Cindy

  3. Looks like you got the Buckeye butterfly. How wonderful! The leaf in the background reminds me of an Indian arrowhead. :)

    1. Thank you Gail. I didn't know what kind it was, thanks for the ID. I can see the arrowhead now that you mention it. I saw a face when I first noticed it. Have a great week. :)

  4. Lovely photo of the butterfly, not at all easy to get a photo of one at this time of year, at the best of times they are elusive. I think the green background is very nice and the brown looks like a leaf to me.

    1. Thanks Ann. Very hard to photograph right now. I'm not giving up though. It is a leaf but depending on how you look at it, it looks like a face. At least it does to me. Have a good week. :)

  7. What beautiful interesting markings on the butterfly.
The leaf kind of looks like it could be a bug of some kind?
