Feathered Friends

Tufted Titmouse

Carolina Chickadee

I wish the Chickadee was more in focus but I like the bokeh in the background.

Blue Jay

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."  ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Just a few feathered friends I thought I'd share.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Until next time...

  1. Cindy, I don't see as many blue jays here as I used to. I hadn't thought about it until I saw your photos. I see bluebirds .... a lot of bluebirds, but I don't see blue jays.
    Beautiful photos, as always.
I have been snapping photos of a mockingbird in our yard... buildng its nest....then laying her eggs...and today I photographed the tiny tiny baby birds in the nest. So fascinating! I haven't used my Nikon though....just my iPhone. I need to get busy and get some Nikon shots, eh?
    Sending you hugs my friend.

    1. Hi Jackie, just the opposite here. I see plenty of Blue Jays but I've only seen one Blue Bird. I'll trade you some BJs for some BBs. I'm glad you're enjoying your iPhone. I hope you post some of the Mockingbird photos. I've only been out with my camera once this week and then only for about ten minutes. It's been too hot to get out.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

    2. I videoed the baby birds today...They thought I was their Mama bringing them something to eat...necks straight up...mouths wide open. They look so helpless, but their Mama is such a good one. (Papa is, too, I guess...I can't tell the difference between Mama and Papa.)
Hoping that Annie is better. Sending you hugs.
      J.

    3. Jackie, baby birds are so sweet and I think adorable even without their feathers. I've never been able to tell the Mockingbirds apart. In fact the only birds I can tell apart are the cardinals.
Annie is doing better. She's chasing the cats again. Took her back to the vet yesterday for a recheck. She saw a new vet (both Dr. H's weren't there) who checked her paw and then re-bandaged her foot and leg. I wasn't happy with the way he did it but he's the vet and I figured he knew best. Well, it came off today and so I had to take her to the emergency vet to have her paw re-bandaged. They charged me $65 dollars. Of course she's worth it and more.
Hope you post your video. I'd like to see the baby birds.

      Hugs,
      Cindy

    1. Thanks Ruth. You and Jackie should get the Olloclip for your phone, unless you already have. I've seen some great photos taken with that. Happy Saturday.

  6. The tufted titmouse is so sweet. Delicious bokeh in your photos. We counted 4 blue jays at the feeder yesterday; at least one was a juvenile. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks Gail. We've had fledgling cardinals and Titmice but only adult Blue Jays. Blue Jays would have been awesome. They're one of my favorites. I hope you have a great week too. The weekend went too fast for me. Oh well, another one will be here before I know it. :)

    1. Thank you Deana. There are many titmice around the feeders. I've only seen a couple of Blue Jays this year. I thought there would be more. Happy to have seen this one though. The photo was an accident but one I like.

    2. Apologies, Deana should be Deanna.

  8. I'm impressed, not only with your photography, but with your ornithology. How do you know the names of all these birds? Love that last photo!

    1. Thank you Lowell. I wish I could say I'm naturally smart but I have six different bird apps. I love them. They have many ways of searching for birds. You can search by color, size, bill type, flying pattern and more. Honestly, I'd be lost in the ID of some birds without them.
I loved your new website. It looked great. I'll definitely be back to see more of your photos.
      Happy mid-week. :)

  9. Here, too. I used to see many Blue Jays, but not so much anymore. On one hand, it's good because they are noisy and not so nice, but on the other hand, they're beautiful!
