While sitting in the backyard

Tufted Titmouse
"He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." ~Psalm 91:4

I know I just posted something late last night but I'm in the mood so here's another one.  I took this photo yesterday while sitting in the backyard.  I love these little birds.  They are so sweet and they have such a sweet song.  For now I'm placing the bird seed on top of a couple of the fence posts in the corner of the yard.  I really need to get some more bird feeders or bring the ones in the front yard to the back. This tree sits in the corner near the posts.

Happy Monday everyone!

Delightful findings

I spent most of the day walking around the backyard and down the dirt road in front of the house.  I found these images and thought they were good enough to share with those of you that still drop by from time to time.

I hope you enjoy them.

Light shining through some leaves.

I saw this bunch of leaves and thought they were pretty.  I took a photo but didn't realize how nice they looked until now.

An old neglected fence at the front near the road.  The home it belongs to is abandoned.  I love how the light is hitting the fence.

Annie at the back of the property.  I'm not sure what she's looking at.  She probably looked away because I had the camera out.

Charlie walking through the multitude of leaves that have fallen in the past week.  Although this photo doesn't show it the leaves are a mix of brown, red, yellow/gold and a few green ones here and there.

Trees with very few remaining leaves.  I like this one against the blue sky and white clouds.  I took this from the dirt road in front of the house.

Some trees have very few leaves left but some of them like this one is already starting to produce new buds.

I like the bokeh in this this one and how the sun light shines through the leaves.

Tree and Sky

"The most I can do for my friend is simply be his friend."  ~Henry David Thoreau

A photo of a tree I took a short while back.  I love the sky in the background and thought black and white was more dramatic.  I found the quote, liked it and thought I'd share it with you.

Morning light and shadows

"Hope is like the sun, which as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us." ~Samuel Smiles

This tree is in my sisters backyard.  It's just about dead but still has a couple of limbs that still sprout green leaves.

Old trees

"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit."  ~Robert Louis Stevenson

This is a photo that I posted on an old, no longer existing blog.  I hope you don't mind seeing it again.  I've been trying to find something that is cheerful and happy for the season but alas it escapes me.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.  ~Cindy

Simple Beauty

"If you get simple beauty and naught else, you get about the best thing God invents."  ~Robert Browning

A closeup of a tree trunk.  I don't know why but I saw all the little green moss/lichen on it and thought how pretty.

Branches

Where have all the leaves gone?

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."
~ Khalil Gibran

I was digging in the archives again and found this photo of an Oak tree.  The color version leaves a lot to be desired but I like the B&W version.  I believe I've posted this before on one of my other blogs but not on this blog.  However, it is the same tree in the post titled "The Moon".

The Tree

Happy Thanksgiving!
